Women in Media Speakers
Few people would argue that the use of media isn’t powerful, especially in shaping cultural norms. For years, women have been defined (and even stereotyped) by images portrayed in popular media. But how do we, as young people and adults, look at media’s role - and responsibility - in creating a complete picture of women? And, in light of changes in our world today, how can media help create a new portrait of women? GBS has a range of speakers who concentrate on women in media and can add value to events around social norms, gender roles and media’s use.
