Rene Reyes

Rene was born In Portugal, to a European mother and Mozambique/Puerto Rican father. After migrating to the United States and adjusting to the new world and culture around her, Rene and her family would find themselves facing adversity homelessness and tragedy, but she was determined to help her mother triumph over these issues.

Therefore, after completing undergraduate degrees in Physics, Chemistry and Social Sciences, and a Master’s degree in English Rhetoric/Composition; Rene attended Law School to help fight for justice in the murder of her daughter. Being a young immigrant, no one would take the case on seriously or even wanted to do more than just close the issue as  a possible case of S.I.D.S. related injuries.  So, with a team of great mentors, Rene represented herself. After successfully gaining the closure of this issue, Rene realized that since age six, she found great solace and refuge in expressing herself via poetic verse, playing her violin since age 6 and advocacy. Rene learned that empowering others, also empowers and strengthens her. To date, Rene was chosen as an International Poet Laureate Recipient (‘05-‘06 ), holds empowerment and motivational seminars and speaking engagements around the world in four languages and in 23 countries!

Successfully placed in Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities encyclopedia, First Place Orator in the Honorable Stanley Mosk Moot Court competitions for three years straight,  International Intelligence Quotient member, ranking a 131 and has six published novels; under her own publishing company; Sweet Verse Publishers. Rene also has four Spoken Word CD’s and a Motivational audio Series, entitled, “I Deserve Better” on her own Independent music label, Poohmafella Records. Recently, Rene made a solid business decision by expanding  her personal care service company, “The Watch Owl”, which is slated to overtake competitors and rank the T.W.O. Corporation in the top 25 businesses to watch for in 2009-2010! Rene believes that if you speak it, believe it, write it down and focus, you can achieve all things by God’s will and one’s direct obedience to succeed!
