Travels From: Louisville, KY
Nichole Compton is a native of Louisville, Kentucky and the eldest sibling of eight children born to Bonnie and Charles Taylor. She has overcome substantial obstacles and humble beginnings to become a true overcomer of the odds against her. Nichole graduated in the top percentile of her class in high school, despite becoming a mother as a teen. She went on to get a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts and Technology Management from Berea College and graduated from the University of Louisville, where she received both her Master of Business Administration focusing on Entrepreneurship and her Juris Doctor degrees.
Currently, Nichole is the managing attorney and owner of Compton Law Office, PLLC in Louisville, as well as a certified mediator. Not only is she a working woman, entrepreneur and the current president of the Louisville Black Lawyers Association, she meets the daily challenges of striving to be a good mother to her son Rico and wife to her husband Dwayne.
Nichole always finds time to connect with her community, whether it is giving pro bono legal and mediation services, mentoring high school students, sitting on various boards or volunteering at the local law school. She also serves as a court appointed attorney each week representing parents accused of child abuse or neglect in the Jefferson County Family Court system. Her volunteerism has earned her community recognition and awards over the years such as the Jefferson County Public Schools “Champions for Children” awards, which she received more than once.
Nichole candidly speaks of her successes and failures in hopes of making a difference in the lives of many. She enjoys using her story to encourage others, especially teens and young adults standing at the crossroads of life changing decisions.
