Kaneisha Grayson is an entrepreneur, writer, and speaker who provides practical tips for achieving one’s dreams despite the odds. She founded her business “The Art of Applying” to coach non-traditional applicants as they apply to top MBA and other graduate programs. She uses the power of effective storytelling to propel people to achieve their most audacious goals and dreams. Kaneisha Grayson has been featured on MBAPodcaster as well as Vault.com. her clients have been admitted to top schools such as Harvard, Kellogg, Columbia, NYU, USC, and UT-Austin.
Kaneisha is also the founder of the site “CrazyGirl Nation.” She provides advice to highly accomplished women who are at an emotional, spiritual, and professional crossroads in their lives, leading them to feel a little “crazy”. Her site has 10,000 global visitors a month, of which 40% are men. Her relationship and happiness advice has been featured on major sites for women such as Yahoo! Shine.
She graduated with an MBA and MPA from Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School, where she received the George Foundation Fellowship for her multi-sector career achievements and goals. She is also a two-time recipient of The LAGRANT Foundation’s Fellowship for excellence in marketing, advertising, and PR.
While at Harvard, Kaneisha worked as a vendor for Harvard Business School MBA Career Services, and delivered presentations to current MBA students on effective networking strategies for securing a dream job despite the recession. Kaneisha’s “email that always works” has helped her and her Harvard classmates get instant email responses from company CEOs and even celebrities such as Curt Schilling of the Boston Red Sox.
Kaneisha earned her BA in Black Studies from Pomona College in Claremont, California where she earned the Ada May Fitts Award for the Most Influential Senior Woman, and the Outstanding Senior Thesis in Black Studies Award for her thesis titled “Black Women, Feminism, and Social Entrepreneurship.” While in college, Kaneisha studied abroad for five months at the University of Havana in Cuba.
After graduating from college, Kaneisha spent 10 months in Accra, Ghana as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar, where she took coursework in African Studies at the University of Ghana, immunized children against polio as a part of Rotary’s National Immunization Day, and delivered over a dozen ambassadorial speeches and interviews to Ghanaian audiences to facilitate goodwill and international understanding between the U.S. and Ghana.
Kaneisha specializes in speaking to audiences of all ages who are seeking step-by-step advice on how to identify, pursue, and achieve their personal and professional goals. She enjoys not only motivating and inspiring people but giving them tangible tools they can use every day.
