Hosea Chanchez stars as Malik Wright on the BET comedy The Game, a smart, cutting-edge show about professional football players and the women entangled in their lives. Chanchez's acting talent, charisma, and instinctive sense of humor have made Malik a truly multidimensional character: a star quarterback who is both a "ladies' man" and a "momma's boy." His portrayal of this brash yet sweet young man faced with sudden success has already won Chanchez notable acclaim. The series ran for three seasons on the CW, and will now be returning for its fourth season on BET in early 2011.

After The Game ended its run on the CW, Hosea took some time off to start his own non-profit organization, Watch Me Win, which is dedicated to enriching the lives of urban youth through mentorship, leadership development, encouragement and empowerment. Watch Me Win, Inc. celebrated a successful first year in June with a Charity Benefit Gala at the new W Hotel in Hollywood. Chanchez also used this time to expand creatively and now has three films (96 Minutes, Dysfunctional Friends and The Cost of Heaven) in post-production.

Chanchez was born in Montgomery, Alabama, and spent the majority of his childhood there and in Atlanta. He was raised by a loving family who recognized his talents and encouraged him to pursue his dreams. From the moment he sang along to his grandmother's records, Chanchez displayed an inherent knack for performance. He knew by the age of 10 that he wanted to be an actor. Soon after graduating high school, he headed to Hollywood. Although he ran into the classic rough start many young actors encounter, Chanchez found a job as a car salesman and used his free time to learn the audition process.

He honed his craft through various classes and workshops and ultimately found an agent. Soon after, he landed the first of approximately 50 commercial bookings. Chanchez humbly considers his "big break" to be the moment he became a working actor and appreciates every day he has on the set.

Hosea relishes his comedic role on The Game, but he has also shown great promise in dramatic roles evidenced by his work on episodic television and his work in film and on stage. His television credits include appearances on CBS's hit NCIS, FX's The Shield, Everwood, Jack & Bobby, CBS's Close to Home plus recurring roles on Robbery Homicide Division and For Your Love. He also was the lead in the film Rich Quick and had supporting roles in The Outsider and My Brother. Hosea's theater credits include productions of Royal Oats and Glory, Shop Life, The Wiz, and The Long Walk Home. Chanchez has his own production company, Kelp Productions.

Far from the self-assured, "party boy" athlete he plays on The Game, Hosea loves to read, paint, and write music in his spare time. If you are making plans to dine out, check with Hosea first. He considers himself a "foodie," loves to eat out and has the best restaurant recommendations. As far as cooking for himself, Hosea is learning to master the grill and is forever experimenting with ingredients in his quest to make the perfect salad. To stay in shape and allow himself his foodie indulgences, Hosea meets regularly with a trainer. As much as he dislikes working out, he knows "it's the right thing to do." He also stays well grounded through constant contact with his family in Georgia and as dad to his spoiled English bulldog, Lola.
