Travels From: New York
As an Auburn University graduate and Harlem, New York native George could have easily sunk his cleats into several industries with his college education. “ I started from the underground and worked my way up,” says George about his early experience in the music industry. During college he would come home to New York for summers and intern at various labels and promotional companies for sport.
Shortly after college he ventured out into the entertainment world
by working with a few start-up labels and companies, until he landed
a position with Roc-A-Fella Records as the Assistant National Director
of Marketing, Branding /Event Promotions and Tour Manager.
It was at Roc-A-Fella where he honed and mastered his skills of developing
and marketing artists. An integral part of his role with Roc-A-Fella
was working on a variety of multiple-city tours that ran for months
on end. While at Roc-A-Fella he co-managed the multi-million dollar
marketing budget for the alcohol & beverage line, clothing line,
as well as for the magazine and film product lines.
Currently, George is the acting manager of the 2005 Apollo Legends
music group Black Violin. Black Violin is comprised of two classically
trained violinists, who specialize in performing in the hip-hop genre.
George also manages Grammy nominated beat box champion Rahzel, of
the Award winning group The Roots.
His hard work and persistence enabled him to effectively pursue a
career in the entertainment industry. He has worked with an extensive
list of successful artists, who have repeatedly utilized his marketing
and tour management services. Some of the artists that Green has worked
with are: Jay Z, Kanye West, Twista, Rahzel, Cam’ron, Jim Jones,
Juelz Santana, Memphis Bleek, Beanie Sigel, Jurassic 5, Supernatural,
8 Ball, John Legend, Young Guns, Freeway, State Property.
