Frank Woodbeck is a native of Buffalo, New York currently residing in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mr. Woodbeck has developed expertise in personal finance, with proficiency in credit building, maintenance and repair which serves the needs of citizens of all ages, particularly those in their young adult college years as they establish financial independence (see below).  He also has vast experience in the communications industry, being one of the first and highest ranking African-American managers in broadcasting and cable television history, with three of the largest and most prestigious communications companies in the world.

Frank’s current goal is to teach and empower others, particularly young adults, to control their destinies to the greatest degree possible, especially in personal finance.

Frank currently serves as a Commissioner on the Nevada Commission for Economic Development, appointed by Governor Gibbons in July 2007 to a three year term; as well as establishing his own management consulting firm.

With a thirty-six year background in the communications industry, he began as a sales executive for an AM radio station in Buffalo, owned by Capital Cities Communications, in 1972.  He subsequently became Sales Manager for the station in 1977, and President and General Manager for the station in 1980, a first for an African-American in that renowned broadcast company.

After four years as President and General Manager, he was tapped to launch an advertising sales division for Capital Cities Cable in 1984, the first for that company.   Although the cable division was sold to the Washington Post Company in 1986, at the request of Washington Post Company upper management, he remained to build the advertising sales operation over the next five years from its infancy to a multi-million dollar sales operation.

In 1991, he returned to Capital Cities, which had become Capital Cities / ABC, after they purchased the American Broadcasting Companies in 1986.  He became the Vice President – Affiliate Relations for the ABC Radio Networks, and a key executive in the launch of such syndicated programs as the Tom Joyner Morning Show and the Doug Banks Show.  He was ultimately responsible for affiliate relations for over 3,000 radio stations throughout the United States, and ran the Dallas offices for Affiliate Relations.

In 2000, Mr. Woodbeck joined One Media Place to launch the radio division for this internet-based advertising sales company.  In 2001, the company was sold, and he returned to his radio roots, launching two radio stations in Las Vegas:  V-108 – The Best Variety of Old School and Today’s R&B; and 105.7 – The Oasis, Smooth Jazz.

The stations were sold in 2005 and Mr. Woodbeck launched a consulting career, which is growing today.  Mr. Woodbeck and his wife Suzan became real estate investors, real estate investment trainers, and developers.  As a real estate trainer, Mr. Woodbeck realized that most investors, or citizens at large, did not have a sense for how to manage their credit profiles and scores, which are vitally important to their lives as investors and their lives as a whole.  Using his own credit reports as “test cases”, he developed a sense of empowerment, and the passion to be an advocate for those who did not realize how important credit scores were in controlling their very financial survival.  He studied the Fair Credit Reporting Act, developed relationships with the highest ranking executives at the credit bureaus, wrote impactful letters to legislators and federal agencies, and counseled students and those who rented his properties to be their own advocates, teaching them how to control their credit profiles and scores.   His goal is to empower others with the will to control their financial fate, and teach their families the same.

Mr. Woodbeck is a graduate of the University of Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management.  He has also studied graduate courses at the University of Buffalo and Harvard University.  He is an active member of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity and “crossed the burning sands” of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.  Mr. Woodbeck and his wife Suzan have six children and ten grandchildren.  He has been active in community-based organizations throughout his career, residing in Buffalo, Detroit, Phoenix, Dallas and Manhattan, before moving to Las Vegas, and he is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served in Vietnam, receiving the Vietnam Service Medal and Air Force Commendation Medal.

He is currently President of Adaven Consulting LLC, and can be reached there, as well as through the Great Black Speakers Bureau.
