Danielle is a professional speaker who inspires companies and individuals to live a healthy and productive life. She has captivated audiences across the U.S. speaking about her passion of living a heart healthy life style and preventing heart disease and strokes. Danielle has 15 years experience in the emergency medical field and 7 years as a spokesperson for the American Heart Association. She has taken her expertise and put together a powerful keynote speech and a workplace wellness consulting company.

 

Emergency Medicine

 

Cortes DeVito joined the Chicago Fire Department in April 2004 and was a recipient of their Outstanding Candidate award. She is a member of the National Association of Paramedics and the Illinois Medical Emergency Response Team. She holds Illinois licenses as a paramedic and Lead EMS Instructor. She was recognized Governor Pat Quinn for her advocacy for placing automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) in businesses throughout the state. The Chicago Fire Department awarded Cortes DeVito its Community Commitment Award for outstanding work in preventative health. She began her career in emergency medicine in 1994 after graduating from Loyola University medical Center in Pre-hospital Medicine.

Cortes DeVito’s work in the community has not gone unacknowledged.

 

Her resume boasts impressive accomplishments including a “Woman of Inspiration” award given by Bank of America and the women’s professional basketball team the Chicago Sky in 2008. She has also served as an Ambassador for the “Power to End Stroke Campaign", an initiative of the American Heart Association.

 

Danielle Cortes DeVito was crowned Mrs. Chicago in 2009. Mrs. Chicago is part of The International Pageant system that was developed to promote today's married women, their accomplishments, and commitment to family and marriage. A large part of the competition is based on the contestant’s commitment to community, and Cortes DeVito’s win was largely predicated on her work with the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” effort, for which she serves as a volunteer spokesperson.
