Charles B. Schooler is the 2008 NAACP Image Award
winner for his self-published book “More Than Entertainers: An Inspirational
Black Career Guide 1st Revised Edition.” The book features 35 black
professionals and skill tradesmen and aims to expand the perceived career
options for young blacks beyond sports/entertainment through educational
achievement while positioning young black professionals as role models.
Mr. Schooler is a
person who has always been excited about the journey we call life. As a
child, he dreamed about the man he would become, and importantly took the
necessary steps to position himself for success. He was raised in a
household that stressed the importance of education. As a result, he
finished high school 10th in his graduating class, and holds the following
degrees: an Associate of Science in Business Administration , a Bachelor of
Science in Business with a concentration in Marketing, and a MBA. A Doctoral
degree in Sociology is his long-term educational goal.
He is the creator
of the nationally-recognized financial literacy web site,
www.ChoiceNerd.com, which gives young people insight on how to manage
credit, buy a car, implement a budget, etc. His work within the financial
literacy arena includes serving on an advisory committee of the Federal
Reserve to increase financial literacy in low and moderate income
communities as well as the Illinois Jumpstart Coalition.
As a business
professional, he has held decision-making corporate positions in the
automotive, clothing, and telecommunication industries. He has helped
numerous multi-million dollar organizations maximize profitability as a
certified Six Sigma consultant. Mr. Schooler is also the President of his
own company Allied Solution Partners, LLC and the Executive Director of the
National Center for Educational Awareness.
As an economist, Mr. Schooler has
extensive experience forecasting economic conditions for small businesses.
He has also served on several civic boards including the Liberty Township
Economic Vision Committee and the Quad County Urban League Young
Professionals.
Mr. Schooler has also been a
contributing writer for Black Collegian magazine, and his
profile has been featured across all medias including: radio, television,
and Internet, and print.
Passionate about helping young people reach their full potential, the 31 year-old, motivational speaker, author/publisher, entrepreneur, civic leader, and father and husband, is a well-versed professional with experience as a keynote speaker, workshop presenter, and panelists.
