Charles Connor is the original pioneering drummer for Little Richard and The Upsetters, and the man whom "The Godfather Of Soul" James Brown said, "Was the first to put the funk into the rhythm." As one of history's few successful left-handed drummers, the New-Orleans-born Connor created the "Choo-Choo Train" drumming style, which consists of eighth notes. It's been used by nearly all successful rock 'n' roll drummers, whether they know it or not. Connor has even been featured playing drums in a Nike-sponsored video for Soccer Nike SPARK Training.

Classic Little Richard and the Upsetters recordings which feature Connor's trademark drumming include: "Keep A-Knockin'", "She's Got It", and "Ooh! My Soul." During their heyday, the band appeared in three classic musical comedy films: 'The Girl Can't Help It", "Don't Knock The Rock", and "Mr. Rock 'N' Roll." They toured foreign countries and the United States, headlining at such prestigious venues as The Apollo Theater and The Brooklyn Paramount Theater. And in addition to Little Richard and James Brown, Connor has worked with such Rock 'N' Roll Hall Of Famers as Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson, Lloyd Price, and The Original Coasters.

Not one to rest upon his laurels, Connor is a versatile renaissance man who has succeeded as a musician, devoted family man, teacher, mentor, songwriter, voice-over narrator, public speaker, media personality, businessman, and author.

"DON'T GIVE UP YOUR DREAMS: YOU CAN BE A WINNER, TOO!", co-written with J.T. Crane, is Charles Connor's first published book. It offers "Connor Sense", or practical advice on how people can improve themselves, create positive relationships, and enjoy a balanced, quality life. So, whether it's about maintaining faith and not giving up, overcoming adversity, staying focused, accepting responsibility, being a good listener, remaining humble, or conquering anger, the lessons and wisdom offered here are from one who's been there, done that, and paid his dues.
