Akil Bello is co-founder and Vice President of Educational Development of Bell Curves.
He was raised in New York and St. Thomas USVI as one of four children. He acquired a thirst for knowledge and love of education from his parents, both of whom are educators, which lead him to a career in test preparation. pursued spent that last two decades helping other achieve their educational goals.
Prior to starting Bell Curves with his brother in 2003, Akil spent over
12 years at Princeton Review as a master teacher and developer. He is
responsible for development of programs and materials, as well as the
training of teaching staff. When Akil started Bell Curves in 2003, he
brought with him over 12 years experience in educational services and test
preparation. During his career with several different test preparation
companies, he has trained hundreds of teachers and written thousands of
simulated test questions.
Akil also regularly lectures at various education forums; most recently he
was invited to lecture at the College Summit's Educator's Institute, PhD
Project's Annual Conference, the National Black MBA Annual Conference and
Yale School of Management's Diversity weekend. Akil is credited as a
contributor to The Princeton Review's "Cracking the GMAT" and he
is also one of the most sought after Bell Curves tutors. As an active member
in the community, he routinely provides lectures and workshops on test
preparation and achieving educational success with limited resources. Akil
holds a Bachelors of Architecture from Pratt Institute.
