Dr. Boyce Watkins - Syracuse UniversityStrictly for the Haters
by: Dr. Boyce Watkins

I’mma ball till I fall, takin balls to the wall
If ain’t got it, Imma get it, man, I want it all
Change the game like a sport, never coming up short
Eating haters like steak, with a knife and a fork

I’mma roll like it’s stole, keep my pockets on swoll
I’m sprinting at my target, not just taking a stroll!
I wake up with the hens, motivating my friends
Cause I see my vision clearly, like a wide angle lense

They don’t know who I be?  My man you don’t know me!
I’m a hustlballaholic like the presidency
When I work for the rent, die trying like 50 cent
If the haters blow my house down, then I’m pitching a tent

Cause that’s the leader I am, coming at Uncle Sam
Black skin and black boots matching like I don’t give a damn
Am I inebriated?  Naw, just damn educated
I’m not meek like a mouse, dreams bigger than Oprah’s house

The haters think I’m crazy when I’m putting in work
But their grandkids will buy outfits with my face on their shirt
So yaw continue to hate while I’m fillin my plate
Cause you’re a dollar short and also man you showin up late

In case you ain’t heard, my work ethic’s absurd
Cause I’m promised to be major, and I’m keeping my word
Think you’re the best but your not, your mouth be running like snot
You’re soundin ludacris, but Imma get that number one spot

That’s how leaders lead, that’s how a king wears his crown
Man, that’s how the pimps be pimpin, how a leader gets down
Are you a chicken or an eagle, right now you must decide
Cause I’mma eagle, putting chickens on my back for the ride

The black man is a king, the black woman’s my queen
We’re Batman and Robin and we running this thing
We’re together nonstop like Flava flav and his clock
Muscle bound like the rock, raisin hell like Tupac

The black man is enslaved, but I’mma fight to the grave
Not for the bus in the back, but for this paper to stack
I got college for years, that’s what America fears
Cause my brain is full of knowledge oozing out of my ears

So please open the door, or I got drama in store
The black leadership is coming, and we ain’t beggin no more
So heed the words that I speak, and keep these rhymes with you son
When you’re black, you are a diamond, and you’re second to none.
