George Duvall is a motivational speaker, consultant and comedian who shares his positive message of success with schools and organizations across America.George spent 15 years of his life in foster care and youth facilities. Now he speaks to audiences about the importance of education, fun, family and fatherhood using humor and his own unique journey from struggle to success.
George has presented at over 500 events over the past 12 years. His first speaking engagement was for the Kentucky State Foster Parent dinner in 1995. Since his first speech, Mr. Duvall has become one of the nation’s most entertaining and inspirational motivational speakers on youth issues.In October of 2000, George was the keynote speaker for the California Youth Connections Leadership conference in Eureka, CA. It was after this experience he knew his positive message of success could transcend state boundaries. In May of 2004, George was the keynote speaker during the Family Support America’s 10th Biennial National Conference in Chicago, IL. George spoke to over 2400 participants from the USA, Canada and England. Participants included CEO’s, Administrators and the general conference attendees. He received a standing ovation and became even more committed to sharing his story with others.George’s extensive speaking experience includes: closing keynote speaker during the Arkansas Parent Educators Conference; Master of Ceremonies at the Sonoma State University Teen Form; closing keynote speaker during the Prevent Child Abuse Conference in Iowa; closing keynote speaker for the National Staff Development and Training Association (NSDTA) Conference in Washington, DC; featured keynote speaker at the Linking Forces 12th Annual Children’s Mental Health Conference in Miami, FL; guest speaker during the Blackburn Correctional Facilities Father and Children Together Program graduation in Lexington, KY; and trainer and keynote speaker for Woodford Family Services in Portland, ME.
In addition to speaking, George is also a skilled training professional who expertly facilitates trainings for youth and adults. Training topics include Self-Empowerment and Leadership, The Father Factor: “They call me Daddy!” and Independent Living: Teaching Youth to Think Independently, while Living Interdependently. During these and other trainings, you will be moved and educated by his knowledge, sincerity, courage, humor and straight talk about his experiences growing up in America’s foster care system.
An important component of George’s life and work is humor. He has combined his upbringing and life in foster care, college and personal experiences into a forum all people can understand…Laughter! George’s comedic pursuit originated on the stage of Comedy Off Broadway in Lexington, Kentucky as a way to propose to his wife. His first experience on the comedy stage taught him how to create his own comedy show. George has seen his audience grow from 25 people to a standing room only crowd. The positive response George has received in Kentucky is echoed by laughter and applause during many conferences and in comedy venues across the U.S. -
