Charreah K. Jackson
Charreah is a certified family life educator and the Relationships Editor at ESSENCE magazine, where she creates engaging features on sex and love for the magazine and hosts lively discussions on love.The savvy communicator speaks nationally on women’s empowerment, success and healthy relationships including the 2013 iDate Conference, the American Society of Authors and Journalists, and the Omega Institute’s Women and Power Conference headlined by Gloria Steinem. She provides workshops, corporate seminars and one-on-one coaching and is a featured love expert on VH1, WEtv, Headline News, ABC News and the Huffington Post.
Charreah has interviewed newsmakers such as Spike Lee, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and has earned awards in journalism including a 2009 New York Association of Black Journalists award and was a finalist for a 2007 Hearst Award. She also penned the popular “Frisky Friday” column for Essence.com and has interviewed hundreds of singles and couples on their dating and sex lives.
As the Social Media Editor at Siren PR, she connected women to the fashion and beauty brands they love and grew an international network. Charreah is a volunteer with BedSider.org, which offers education and empowerment to women on their many birth control options and is featured in the organization’s new PSA. She is also featured in the book “Daring to be Ourselves” by Marianne Schnall, which includes insights from influential women including Cameron Diaz and Maya Angelou.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Charreah now resides in Harlem. When she’s not plotting to make the world more loving and sexually empowered, you can catch her shopping for vintage finds or watching indie films with her smarter-half, Stephen.
