“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”
-Proverbs 18:21
Is it me? Or does it seem like whenever you hear about
someone experiencing a life and death situation she’ll be
talking about how her life flashed before her eyes?
Or he’ll be saying that he had some great epiphany and now
his life has new meaning and purpose. You’ve heard something
similar, haven’t you?
If only more people realized...
Every minute of every day is a life or death situation!
Million Dollar Question: If something- positive or
negative- you feel, say, or think in any aspect of your life
comes to fruition, did you predict the future or did you
create the future?
Think wisely about that answer.
Your life depends on it.
In The Magic of Exceptional Communication seminar, we talk
about this extensively. What you do in life and 99.9% of
what happens to you in life is a direct result of what you
feel, say, or think.
I don’t know about you, but I would be ready to fight if
someone said to me some of the things I say to myself.
There are studies that show that negative predictions about
our experiences are far more likely to come true than
positive predictions because negative thoughts are seven
times more powerful than positive ones.
This means that to override any negative thought or
expression you produce, it takes seven positive thoughts
just to break even. Now that’s deep.
This is nothing new that we’re talking about. It’s common
knowledge so maybe you already know these things.
But you’ve got to wonder...
If it’s common knowledge then how come people don’t do
something about it?
Because erosion isn’t as noticeable as trauma.
One cheeseburger doesn’t make you fat. One piece of candy
doesn’t give you a cavity. And one negative thought doesn’t
ruin your life. But over time, toxic emotions as well as
limiting beliefs and values cause a person’s well-being to
erode.
Like I already said, you know this. So, the good news is-
you’ll do something about it, right?
Good. (You did answer yes, didn’t you?)
Whether you need a reminder or not, during the course of
your day give the following message to someone who needs it.
Your sense of self-empowerment is in your hands. Scratch
that. Your sense self-empowerment is in your “tongue.”
So be mindful of what you feel, say, and think because like
the scripture says-
You life depends on it.
